2025 Registration is now open!

Happy New Year Riptide Families!

We are excited to announce that we have opened registration for the Spring 2025 Hampton Riptide Lacrosse Season! Registration will be open through February 7th. Please register as early as you are able to help us get our teams and coaches lined up.

We will be using SportsEngine as the registration and communication platform again this year. If you are a returning player, it should have most of the information complete. If you run into any issues, please email Kevin at kdcurtin@yahoo.com for assistance.

Notes:

  • For anyone returning to Riptide in Grades 1-4, uniforms are the same. You will only need to order a new one if you have outgrown anything. Ordering is done in the registration process the same as last year, and we will give those out during the 1st practices.
  • For players in Grades 5-8, we will be piloting a new uniform vendor, design, and ordering method this season. We hope that it will elevate the experience for everyone. Players will be able to have their name on the back, pick their number, and have the uniform delivered directly to their house. In addition, there will be optional shooter shirts and sweats for sale at the same time. Numbers will be first come first served; a backup number will be requested as well in case of duplication.  If the pilot goes well, we will roll this out to all players next year. There is an external link during the registration process to complete this. Please don’t forget to complete the normal registration in SportsEngine.

  • Have someone who is looking to play Riptide this year, but has questions? We have updated our website with most of the pertinent information in the What to Expect section. https://www.hamptonlax.org/whattoexpect
  • We are always looking for additional coaches to help, with the biggest need being with our younger athletes. If you are interested and want more information please reach out. Coach registration is located on the same page of our website. If you are a returning coach, please check to see if your US Lacrosse status is up to date.

The 2025 Spring Season is coming soon!

Riptide Lacrosse will begin signups for the 2025 season on January 1st and we have some exciting updates to share. 

1. We have added a "What to expect?" section to the About Us page on the website. We hope this will answer any questions from new or prospective players. 

2. We will be testing a new uniform and vendor for our 5th-8th graders this year. Some improvements include, refreshed logos and colors,  names on the back, uniforms shipped directly to home, and ability to choose a number (subject to availability). 

3. Enhanced social media and communication. Look for more updates/pictures/video in season. Follow us on your favorite platform!

2024 Season Schedule

Season Schedule Overview:

Indoor practices beginning the week of March 11 through March 24. Coaches will be in touch with specific dates, times and locations.

Outdoor practices will begin in late March. Coaches will be in touch with specific dates, times and locations.

Games begin: April 6 & 7

  • U8 & U10 teams play on Saturdays 
  • U12 & U14 teams play on Sundays
  • Game schedules will come out at the beginning of April. Coaches will communicate game schedules as soon as we know them--please be patient as we have to wait for the schedules from our leagues who are juggling many, many teams!

Game weekends are:

April 6/7, 13/14, 20/21, 27/28; May 4/5, 11/12, 18/19; June 1/2. No games Memorial Day weekend.

For the U12 & U14 teams, the end of season festival is Jun 8 & 9.

Charlie Rizzo


Coach Charlie

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Charlie Rizzo, a dear friend and long-time coach for Hampton Riptide lacrosse. Charlie's true joy was as a proud father to his children Dominic (in his first year at Louisiana State University) and Arianna (8th grade in Hampton Falls). Charlie also had a passion for sports and he reveled in coaching his children in flag football, basketball, and most recently, lacrosse. He was a great coach and friend to our girls, cheering them on, encouraging them to work hard, play well, and never give up. He will be greatly missed by many, but most especially by his children. Please consider donating to his family as they try to navigate this new life without their father.
